Jo Really Rocks Jewelry: Hand forged sterling, Murano glass

Follow the latest adventures of Jo Really Rocks Jewelry from Jo Watts. My latest challenge is to use copper, sterling silver and brass wire, sheets, tubes and pipes of various gauges and alloys to crochet, wire wrap, and rivet, all without soldering. Still using my torch for the that amazing coloration on copper. Still love rocks so expect them to make an appearance. I will fight that old soldering urge but who knows what will happen.

My challenge is this: can I take "raw" metal and figure out different ways to use it? Can I cut the center out of a forged piece of copper and then string sunstones on wire and wrap them within the framework to create a golden cobweb? The turn of the century heavy iron chasing tool I found at an antique shop in Asheville, NC was confiscated by airport security as I was about to board but the old hand drill bought at the same shop was magically deemed an egg beater so it made its way home and sits here on my workbench ready for action.
